To this day, Raiders of the Lost Ark continues to influence Pop Culture. But the Indiana Jones Trilogy did not only paid homage to classic adventure series, they also redefined the adventure genre. More adventure films and series were made in the same spirit as the Indy films, and not only in the 80s. Hollywood still produces films that are influenced by Raiders of the Lost Ark today and those films still continue to break box office records.
